hi folks! the company that i work for is hiring.
we’re a small startup (7 people) building a unified API layer to monitor & control distributed energy resources (home battery systems, smart thermostats, smart water heaters, etc) in order to help utilities transition more quickly to non-polluting sources of energy. as an example of the kind of stuff that we’re doing, helped dispatch home batteries in california for their demand side grid support program.
it’s an early stage startup, so there’s of course some risk, but i’ve been really enjoying my time here so far. it’s been refreshing to be free from the inter-team turf wars and jockeying for position that characterize every large organization i’ve ever been a part of, and the work feels meaningful – batteries and other distributed energy resources have the potential to avert the need to bring online generating capacity from natural gas to deal with the duck curve. the people are smart and kind, and bring a good blend of energy and software experience.
there’s a lot to be built, so we’re looking for someone who can help establish solid architectural patterns for us, but is also adaptable and unafraid to jump into unknown territory.
if this sounds interesting to you, let’s chat! you can email me: ben@derapi.com.
